Marshall & Madeira Seminar Nov. 17, 6 to 8 p.m. ET

November 17, 2021 @ 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm

- $75

The John Marshall Center is partnering with Preservation Virginia‘s John Marshall House to celebrate his beverage of choice: Madeira wine! REGISTER NOW

Madeira is a fortified wine produced on the island of Madeira off the coast of Portugal and was popular in Early Republic Virginia for its fascinating flavors and ability to withstand the hot climate. We invite you to join us on November 17th from 6-8pm for a tasting of 5-6 Madeiras led by specialist, Bartholomew Broadbent of Broadbent Selections. Learn about the drink itself and enjoy an evening inside the 1790 John Marshall House to learn more about the Chief Justice’s and Early America’s fascination with Madeira. Preservation Virginia’s Curator of Collections will offer a behind-the-scenes look at some special objects in the House’s historic collection. All guests must be 21 years+.

Tickets are $75/each or a 2 for $120 and include the tastings, hors d’oeuvres, seminar, open house program, and souvenir wine glass.

This is an indoor/outdoor (tented) event; details about capacity, social distancing, and face masks subject to change based on guidance from the CDC. This event will be adapted virtually if it is not recommended to meet in person.
