Richmond, VA – The John Marshall Center for Constitutional History & Civics, formerly John Marshall Foundation, announces Ryan W. Boggs, Dominion Energy, and Christopher T. Henry, First Bank & Trust, have joined its Board of Directors.

Boggs earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in environmental studies from Randolph-Macon College and received his Juris Doctorate, magna cum laude, from the T.C. Williams School of Law at the University of Richmond.

“As a lifelong Virginian I am humbled by the opportunity to serve on the board of the John Marshall Center,” says Boggs. “While many Virginians played a vital role in the early days of our democracy, John Marshall is often overlooked in our classrooms. I personally did not appreciate his contributions until taking constitutional law in my first year of law school. Given the persistent threats to the rule of law in our society I believe there is no better time to raise the profile of America’s longest serving Chief Justice and help today’s generation of students appreciate the role of the judiciary in protecting constitutional rights.”

Henry is the Senior Vice President, Division Executive for First Bank & Trust Company’s Wealth Management team. He is a Fiduciary Executive, a Trust & Wealth Management Advisor, serves as chairman of First Trust & Wealth Management’s Trust Committee, and as a member of the Virginia Bankers Association Trust & Wealth Management Committee. Prior to his current role, he served as a Private Client Advisor to high-net-worth individuals and institutions with SunTrust Private Wealth Management and U.S. Trust (Bank of America Private Bank).  Henry holds the Certified Financial Planner (CFP®) and Certified Trust and Fiduciary Advisor (CTFA) designations, is Series 7 & 66 licensed, and maintains a Life & Health Insurance License in Virginia. He earned a Bachelor of Science degree in business administration and management from Virginia Tech.

Henry joined the JMC Associate Board in January 2019 and is currently serving his second term as Treasurer and says of his board service: “This is an exciting time to share the legacy and impact of the Great Chief Justice. As the country re-examines the contributions of our founders it is important to honor their lasting influence and achievements while also recognizing their contradictions – there are opportunities to learn from both. I’m proud of the work the JMC is doing to honor Marshall’s immense impact on our judicial system and the lessons we’ve learned to help achieve a more perfect union.”
